Warm Home Discount
What is the Warm Home Discount Scheme?
The Warm Home Discount is a government led initiative, offering £140 rebates to eligible customers to help with energy bills.
We'll be participating in the scheme beginning 1st June 2017, and we'll make payments to qualifying customers by 31st March 2018.
The applications to participate in the 2017-2018 scheme have now been closed.
There are 2 ways in which you can qualify:
Core Group: As long as you or your partner receive Pension Credit Guarantee Credit and are an Economy Energy Electricity customer on 9th July 2017, you will automatically qualify. The government will write to you to inform you, and we will then pay your rebate. You don't need to do anything, we will communicate with you in Autumn, and inform you of how you will be paid.
Broader Group: You must be either a dual fuel or electricity customer with Economy Energy. If you're a gas only customer with Economy Energy, please apply for WHD with your electricity supplier. In order to be eligible, you must fit a defined criteria, which can be seen here. Please register your interest on the link below, and once applications are open, we will communicate with you, inviting you to apply. If you leave Economy Energy before your rebates are paid, your application will be cancelled, and your rebate will not be paid.
We encourage you to complete the application form in full once you're invited, and upload the correct evidence. Warm Home Discount rebates are strictly first come first serve, and are very limited. We'd love for you to benefit, but cannot guarantee this, if evidence isn't uploaded.
How will my Warm Home Discount be paid if I'm successful?
Whether you're on one of our great prepayment tariffs, or a great Direct Debit tariff, you can benefit from the Warm Home Discount Rebate.
Why do you ask for evidence related to my application?
We're mandated by OFGEM to ensure we only pay those who meet the criteria. For this reason, Charis Grants, our appointed partners may write to customers asking for evidence. It's really important you respond to these quickly, to prevent your application being rejected.
