Prepayment meters
You can top up your gas or electricity at any store displaying the PayPoint logo. Just hand the shop assistant your top up card or key, pay for the amount you'd like topping up, they'll top up your device and hand it back to you. The credit will transfer to your meter when you insert the device back into your meter.

Just register for the online payment service using this link and you will be able to add credit to your Smart meter at any time, wherever you are.
Once registered, you will be able return and login to the same page to top up at any time.
Call our automated service on 0333 103 9053 and Press Option 5.
Follow the instructions. You'll need your debit / credit card handy and you'll also need your gas / electricity top up cards.
Select the amount you'd like to top up (min £10 max £99).
Your payment will be sent to your meter automatically.
Text PAY followed by your Smart payment card number and amount to 024 76 100 767 (Please note: if you wish to top up using this service, you must have previously registered online and ensure there is a space between each entry):
PAY [19 digit Smart payment card number] [amount]
It should look something like this (an example of a £10 top up):
PAY 0123456789012345678 10
There are no additional charges for using this service - you will only be charged at your standard network rates.
