Nearly 1/3 of the heat from your home is lost through your walls. Heat flows to the coldest part in your home, and in winter, this escapes through your walls.
Homes built, typically since 1960s onwards were built with 2 walls, with a gap in between. This is known as the cavity. The outer part is usually built with Bricks or Concrete Blocks.
You can usually work out the type of wall you have by looking at the brick pattern; Below is cavity wall. If the brickwork has been covered, you can also tell by measuring the width, at a door. If it's wider than 250mm, it's likely to be cavity!

If your home has solid walls, the bricks will have an alternating pattern as below; These walls cannot be insulated using Cavity Wall Insulation
By installing Cavity Wall Insulation, you fill the hollow gap in your walls with material, designed to reduce heat loss. That way, more of the heat stays in your home, helping you to reduce your energy bill. There are a number of technical considerations we must take into account before installing cavity wall insulation. Our friendly advisors will visit your property, carry out a free no-obligation assessment, and if your property is suitable, will book in an installation appointment.
On the day of installation, one of our approved partners will carry out a pre-installation assessment, drill holes into your external walls from the outside and fill material in. They will then fill the holes back up, tidy up any mess, and will be on their way! You will also receive a 25 Year guarantee for the work we do, provided independently by CIGA (Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency), 6-8 weeks after the work is completed.
